Charging speeds could triple by 2028 as Nissan aims for the solid-state battery revolution

Nissan plans to revolutionize the entire range of battery type, size and performance when it mass-produces an all-solid-state battery electric car by 2028.

Ar company sources have been quoted as saying they believe Nissan has something special and that they are aiming to bring the cost down to 50 percent of the cost of producing a current lithium-ion battery. In addition, the energy density is to be doubled and the charging speed tripled.

The company says it is working with leading scientists from the University of Oxford to develop a technology that produces batteries without liquid.

The 2028 car would be based on an all-new architecture and likely built in a new factory car car.

That’s because almost every element of car design and manufacture is so futuristic.

Charge speeds will be key to driving down costs, as faster, more stable and more consistent charging means smaller batteries can be fitted.
