Charles Michel becomes the youngest EU leader to visit Kyiv – POLITICO

The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, has traveled to Kyiv and will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President of the European Council is expected to meet Zelenskyy later on Wednesday.

Michel’s statement of solidarity also comes after European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell traveled to the Ukrainian capital earlier this month. Although Eastern European leaders were the first to visit Kyiv after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February.
