Check out the new zones of The Elder Scrolls Online’s High Isle Chapter

When it comes to what’s to come High Island chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online, there is plenty of room to discover new things. There’s a new official preview of the Systres Archipelago, a new zone in the upcoming chapter, along with some things to explore there.

From the start we knew we were going to be sailing across the sea and the Systres archipelago is a key site for the Breton elite to discover, both ancient, historical and mystical. It is currently used as a resort area for the wealthy but the land is important to the people for its historical importance as their ancestors settled the volcanic islands when they left High Isle long ago. The overall design focuses on Breton culture with the use of stone and water, including the history surrounding nautical elements and their navy.

The new zone in the chapter will contain two distinct areas. Both areas have different features like vaults, public dungeons, world bosses, a whole lot of quests and of course rewards. In this chapter you can explore the history of the Bretons, something we have never focused on before.

Opposite is Amenos, an island prison surrounded by the sea. Although there is a small safe area, the island is covered in harsh jungle and surrounded by rough seas, and the population there is mostly made up of prisoners, criminals, and those brought there for political reasons.

The new preview goes behind the scenes and shows the design principles behind the creation, the settings, the environments and how they blended that with what they need to have in the zone to support the gameplay and story they tell to attempt.

Another promised aspect of this chapter is political intrigue and conflict. While High Isle has a reputation for neutrality, there is danger and intrigue as well as competition. This is before you consider any danger from the creatures of the land.
