Check your iPhone now – you could save hundreds with a very simple change

POOR battery life on an iPhone can be annoying – but you may not need to upgrade your model.
Buying a new iPhone is an easy way to fix the problem, but it’s far from the cheapest.
Of course, over time, the performance of your iPhone battery will decrease.
When you buy a new iPhone, the assumption is that the battery is 100% charged.
And that percentage decreases as you drain and charge the device.
So after 500 charge cycles – or about two years – you would expect to be about 80% powered on.
This means that a full iPhone charge gives you 20% less life than when it was new.
It is possible to see this number on your iPhone.
Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging.
Then look under Maximum capacity to see what percentage of battery life you have.
“This is a measure of battery capacity compared to when new,” Apple explains.
“Lower capacity can result in fewer hours of use between charges.”
If you are below 80%, you might find it very annoying.
Luckily, you don’t have to replace your iPhone entirely.
Instead, you can just buy an iPhone battery replacement from Apple.
That means you get “like new” battery life without sacrificing a brand new model.
The price of an iPhone battery replacement may vary depending on the model.
You’re looking at a great price of just £49/$49 for each iPhone SE model.
An iPhone 11 battery swap costs £69 / $69.
You’d pay £105/$99 for an iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it’s extremely unlikely you’ll need one so soon after the phone’s launch.
There’s a calculator on Apple’s website that explains how much you’ll have to pay for each model.
you can find it here.
“Use our Get an Estimate tool to review potential costs,” Apple explains.
“These service fees apply when you receive service from an Apple Retail Store or when you ship your product directly to Apple.
“We will inspect your product upon receipt and confirm the service charges.
“If your iPhone has damage that affects battery replacement, such as B. a cracked screen, this problem must be resolved before replacing the battery.
“In some cases there may be costs associated with the repair.”
Replacing your battery can save you a lot of money and help you avoid upgrading your phone.

Remember, if you have AppleCare+ and your battery capacity drops below 80%, you can request a battery replacement at no additional cost.
