It seems that even the royal children were completely absorbed in the anniversary celebrations this weekend.

A sweet series of photos shows Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, trying to peek out the window during Sunday’s celebrations.

The four-day extravaganza ended on Sunday with a surprise anniversary appearance from the Queen, who had missed the previous two days.

But prior to this engagement, the Cambridge children were apparently keen to see the huge crowds that gathered on the Mall.

Despite the closed curtains, all three children could not resist a quick glance – although little Louis could hardly see over the window sill.

During the pageant, he was seen cheekily blowing raspberries at his mother and covering her mouth – before walking away to sit on Prince Charles’ lap.

Wearing a bright green outfit, she waved to Brits from the balcony of Buckingham Palace alongside Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Thousands of well-wishers had gathered down the Mall to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Royal fans flocked to Buckingham Palace after it was announced the monarch would make a surprise appearance – her third in four days.

The royal standard was raised over the residence to indicate the Queen was there, before cheers erupted as she stepped out.

Thousands then chanted God Save The Queen – while Her Majesty looked on before red, white and blue smoke was blasted into the air.

He said playing the Platinum Jubilee Pageant was a “perfect nostalgic moment.”

Ahead of his appearance on the BBC, he told Anita Rani: “For me this is kind of a nostalgic moment that comes full circle because this is the event where I started playing the guitar 20 years ago after meeting Eric had seen Clapton play on stage.

“And then I got to play it at the Diamond Jubilee 10 years ago. It’s really nice to be back, it’s just a great atmosphere here.”

The singer described the event as a “pinch yourself” moment, but noted he felt “great” before taking the stage.
