Cheeky Wipes is working with Lewes Council on a reusable product scheme

A SUSTAINABLE brand that offers reusable diapers and wipes has teamed up with a council for a coupon scheme to help parents save money.

Newhaven-based Cheeky Wipes have announced their latest partnership with Lewes District Council for the scheme.

It is available to all parents with children under the age of two or those expecting a baby and entitles them to redeem a £50 voucher towards the cost of Cheeky Wipes reusable nappies and wipes.

To apply, parents can email customerfirst@lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk with the subject line ‘Cheeky Wipes Voucher’ and their address details and then provide a MatB1 maternity certificate or birth certificate.

Coupons can be redeemed for some of Cheeky Wipes’ washable wipes and sustainable diaper alternatives, which have been tried and tested by thousands of parents.

The scheme could save people more than £500 in just two years and provide some relief from the cost of living crisis.

Additionally, it will also reduce diaper and wipes waste that can clog drains and waterways.

Cheeky Wipes founder Helen Rankin said: “We are delighted to announce our latest partnership with the Borough of Lewes.

“Cheeky Wipes is all about finding sustainable and affordable swaps that make everyone’s life that little bit easier.

“We know things like nappies and baby wipes can cost a ridiculous amount of money given the cost of living crisis and we hope that with this new scheme we can help bring some relief to parents in Lewes.”

Councilor Julie Carr, Cabinet Member for Recycling, Waste and Open Spaces, said the scheme also had huge environmental benefits.

She said: “Billions of wet wipes are thrown away in this country every year, creating unnecessary waste or being washed away to end up polluting our drains, rivers and seas.

“Disposable diapers are also one of the biggest contributors to plastic waste around the world.

“It’s imperative that we make the shift from single-use to reusable alternatives, and I’m excited that this new program with our partner Cheeky Wipes is enabling local parents to make that shift — while saving money.”
