“Everybody accepts that we are all operating in unprecedented times. As a club we are playing our part to keep everyone safe, providing as many players as possible to play. selection as possible, while keeping football and the league on track, with player welfare paramount on our minds.
“It’s a pity that that doesn’t seem to be reflected in recent decision-making for immobilizers.
“We are therefore deeply disappointed that our Premier League match against Brighton, originally scheduled for our participation in the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, has been rescheduled for Tuesday 18 May. 1 when we believe there are clearly more reasonable dates in that week for this match to take place.

“We are extremely concerned about the welfare of our players in all of this and we do not understand why Wednesday 19 January is not considered an alternative date as it would not affect both teams because we both play the next games on the following Sunday, January 23.”
Chelsea cannot get a Premier League game postponed at Wolves month before the team was affected by the Covid incident.
The rescheduled game means Chelsea will play three games in eight days, starting with a trip to Premier League champions Manchester City.
“We’ve finished games with an exhausted squad,” said Cech. important.
“We also found ourselves playing against an opponent in Brighton, in comparison, they have only one other game in the same seven-day period.
“This can’t be good for the integrity of the game or the competition.
“I know from my experience as a player how much of a difference a day or two more recovery can be.”
