Roman Abramovich is considering an offer for Spanish club Valencia after the sale Chelsea passed, it was claimed.

The billionaire will sell the Stamford Bridge outfit after the Russian invasion Ukraine. Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government, which has prevented the club from engaging in any financial transactions.

And he is said to be hoping to buy another club once the sale is complete. It comes as American billionaire Ken Griffin has promised to help build the “most competitive team” if the Ricketts family consortium is successful in buying the club.

The club will also try to poach Arsenal’s ‘next Bukayo Saka’ – despite his transfer ban.

Blues Eye ‘next Bukayo Saka’

Chelsea are waiting for a move for Arsenal’s Khayon Edwards – who has been dubbed the ‘next Bukayo Saka’ by Emirates club managers.

The sanctions imposed on owner Roman Abramovich prevent the club from buying players, although the club have reportedly contacted Edwards officials about a move. That means the club may already be planning for life under new ownership and formulating transfer targets.

Ricketts consortium promises

One of the billionaires backing the Ricketts family’s bid to buy Chelsea has promised to make “the most competitive team” possible if they succeed in acquiring the club.

Ken Griffin, who has a net worth in excess of £20billion, has joined the Ricketts bid along with NBA side Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. And both have now discussed their potential purchase of the Stamford Bridge club as they have also vowed to ‘continue Chelsea’s winning tradition’.

Abramovich aims to buy Valencia

A rival bidder for Spanish club Valencia has claimed Roman Abramovich wants to bid for the club once the Chelsea sale is finalized.

Singaporean businessman Peter Lim has reportedly put Valencia up for sale with Miguel Zorio claiming he has competition to buy Abramovich’s LaLiga team. Zorio has suggested the Russian oligarch is the other big contender to buy the club and accused Lim of leaking the news to the media.
