Abramovich stepped back
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich released a statement on Saturday night to announce that he will be transferring “management and care” to the Chelsea Foundation.
Since taking over in 2003, Abramovich has overseen a lot of unprecedented success as the Blues consistently won every title available to them at club level.
But Abramovich feels this is the right time for him to step back after admitting he is not in the “best position” to handle the club.
Trustees of the Chelsea Foundation
Roman Abramovich’s decision to hand management over to the Chelsea Foundation has led to a shift in attention to trust charities.
What Abramovich does in the future is still being worked on but for the time being, the ‘benefit of the club’ will be left to the five.
These include Chelsea Women’s Director Emma Hayes and club president Bruce Buck.
Richards knocks out Abramovich
Roman Abramovich’s decision to give Chelsea Foundation care has been met with criticism from expert Micah Richards.
Abrahovich’s decision on Saturday night shocked the football world.
But Richards believes the statement leaves too much to be desired and asks fans to try and figure out what it really means for the Blues going forward.
“We need more than that, don’t we?” Richards asked on Sky Sports.
