Roman Abramovich froze billions of dollars in assets.

Chelsea are expected to be without a number of players due to injuries and illnesses when they compete crystal palace in which FA Cup Semifinals on Sunday afternoon. A number of stars missed out on UEFA Champions League attachment against real Madrid on Tuesday night and are expected not to return in time for the showpiece tie at Wembley.

The battle to buy the club has taken another turn as the co-owners of LA Dodgers go head-to-head with bids.

Abramovich sanctioned the latest

Outgoing Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has frozen assets worth £5.4 billion.

This occurs in the back of the Channel Island police force searching a property believed to belong to Abramovich. The Jersey Law Officers’ Department said in a statement: “Search warrants have been executed by Jersey State Police on premises in Jersey suspected of being connected to the business activities of Roman Abramovich.”

The Russian oligarch is being forced to sell the west London club over allegedly close ties Wladimir Putin after the attack broke out Ukraine from Russia.

FA Cup Squad Update

Chelsea are unlikely to be at full strength when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The FA Cup semi-final is the last chance for a Silver medal for the Blues but they will go into the game with fitness doubts as Romelu Lukaku, who missed the UEFA Champions League quarter-final loss to Real Madrid with an Achilles injury, and Ross Barkely, who was absent from Madrid with a non-Covid related illness.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is also in doubt as he has not played since winning the FA Cup fifth round.

Takeover bid strange twist

The American baseball franchise, co-owners of the LA Dodgers, will compete to acquire the right to buy Chelsea.

The club has been available since the British government imposed sanctions on Roman Abramovich, forcing him to sell the team he bought back in 2003. A number of syndicates have expressed interest in the west London club and the process is now limited to four bids.

Peter Guber and Mark Walter co-own the Dodgers but are involved in separate bids for the reigning UEFA Champions League champions.
