Chelsea go into Saturday’s FA Cup game against Middlesbrough with a number of injuries, some picked up in their midweek win against Lille in UEFA Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel will be in the dugout for the game at Riverside Stadium and will address speculation ahead of the game that he could leave in the summer to take over Manchester United. Ever since the British government imposed sanctions on former Blues owner Roman Abramovich and with it the club, the future of the German coach and the club has been in the stars.

In the midweek win against Lille in the UEFA Champions League, centre-back Andreas Christensen limped off and is doubtful for the away game. As does Reece James, who last played against him Burnley Earlier this month in a game that was his comeback after a long hiatus.

Tuchel’s love for Chelsea
Since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in January 2020, the club has won the UEFA Champions League and won the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in its history.
However, uncertainty about the club’s future has fueled rumors that Manchester United could poach him as the Blues are unable to resist an offer due to the sanctions placed on them. Should that be the case, United would have a free rein with a manager who has guided Chelsea into the last 16 of this season’s Champions League.
Tuchel spoke about his future with the club on Friday, saying he loves working at Stamford Bridge.
Ex-Blue’s role in the takeover
Chelsea are on the hunt for a new owner and a former defender is reportedly helping broker a deal with a Gulf billionaire.
TalkSPORT claim ex-Blue Tal Ben Haim is involved in a £2billion bid to give himself a head start nick candy, Sebastian Coe and a three-man consortium to buy the reigning Champions League champions. Roman Abramovich took office in 2003 but has since left after the British government imposed sanctions on him for alleged links to the Russian president Wladimir Putin.
All bids should be submitted before the Friday 9pm deadline.
