Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has slammed his own players after watching his side go down 4-1 against Brentford.
Vitaly Janelt’s quickfire double brought Brentford to the brink First League Certainty as Christian Eriksen and Yoane Wissa also scored to secure a surprise win for Thomas Frank’s side. The goals came from Antonio Rudiger’s thunderclap just after half-time, but Tuchel was unhappy with his players’ performance after that goal.
The Blues boss slammed his team for “stopping defending” after taking the lead. and Chelsea Fans have clearly expressed their feelings regarding the Ricketts family’s purchase of the club.

Fans make feelings clear
Chelsea fans have protested the Ricketts family’s bid to buy the club.
The Blues are on the hunt for new owners after Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale following the invasion of Russia Ukraine. One of the groups coming forward with an offer to join the club is Chicago Cubs Owned by the Rickets family.
But their offer was turned down by Chelsea fans, who were seen chanting: “You’re not welcome here, you’re not welcome here – fuck off Tom Ricketts, you’re not welcome here.”
Brentford talking points
Chelsea’s good run of six wins in all competitions ended in a 4-1 defeat by Brentford in west London.
Antonio Rudiger put the Blues ahead just after half-time with a stunning goal before the wheels fell off for the Stamford Bridge side. Vitaly Janelt netted before Christian Eriksen scored a fairytale goal to put the Bees ahead in a huge about-face.
Janelt then clinched his second of the game to put Brentford on their way to three points before Yoane Wissa scored a late goal to seal the incredible win in a game packed with talking points.
Tuchel slams players
Thomas Tuchel was anything but happy after his team’s shock defeat by Brentford.
Brentford punished Chelsea’s uncharacteristic defensive disorder three times in six minutes to seal a memorable win for the Bees. And Tuchel slammed into his side after they “stopped defending” after taking the lead through Antonio Rudiger.
The Blues boss certainly didn’t shrink from his words as he reviewed his team’s efforts after the game when he criticized the Blues players’ performances.
