Chelsea sale: Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams agree on a multi-million dollar investment in the offer

The seven-time F1 champion and serial tennis grand slam winner are said to be investing up to £10m each, with Chelsea up for sale following the sanctions imposed on owner Roman Abramovich

Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams are said to be offering up to £10m each as part of the takeover bid Chelsea Football Club, run by former British Airways chairman Sir Martin Broughton.

The bid is one of three finalists being considered by the Raine Group, a US merchant bank overseeing the auction on behalf of Roman Abramovich.

Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 champion, and Williams, who has won 23 grand slams, have been in talks with Broughton and other co-investors for several weeks, Sky News first reported.
