Chelsea star Christian Pulisic warns Liverpool ahead of Carabao Cup final

Christian Pulisic declares Chelsea “ready to fight” to end the recent pain at Wembley as they take over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

The Blues have been defeated in 2020 and 2021 FA Cup final by Arsenal and Leicester but there is a chance to collect another title under Thomas Tuchel on Sunday afternoon.

Standing in front of them is Liverpool, who are more than 10 points in Premier League board played one more game.

But the US striker is confident that Chelsea’s recent experience in games with silverware at stake – won Champions LeagueUEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup over the past nine months – could give them an edge.

“The players Liverpool have and the style they play, they make things very difficult for you,” said Pulisic. ESPN.

“They are a high-pressure team, they have a lot of physical, quick, dangerous attacking players.

“We’ve played in finals before. We won and lost them but it’s about mindset and willingness to fight because in a final that’s what they want.

“It’s to grasp, maybe not always the team that plays the best wins.

“It’s about honing, fighting and winning that one-off match. That’s what we’re going to do; hopefully we’ll get the job done this time around.”

Pulisic also heaped praise on Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah, who reached the Carabao Cup final with four goals in his last three games.

“He’s an incredible player,” Pulisic said of Salah. “Until the Premier League gets going this season, he has generally been there at his best.

“There’s definitely a lot to look for and I can learn from him. He’s a great goalscorer, really strong, he does a lot of things well that people don’t even realize. so he can score these goals. He’s someone I can learn from.”

Salah has scored 27 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions this season while Pulisic has four in 22 games.
