The first meeting of two Big Six teams takes place this afternoon Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The Blues prevailed in their opening game against Everton First League season they needed a cool head Jorginho bringing home a penalty that secured them the win while Spurs swept past Southampton 4-1 without their two main stars – Harry Kane and son Heung-min – be included in the scorer list.

Marc Cucurella will start for the first time this afternoon as Ben Chilwell is out. Ruben Loftus-Cheek also joins the side, replacing Cesar Azpilicueta. Antonio Conte remains with the same starting XI that started against Saints, meaning summer signing Ivan Perisic is back on the bench.

Chelsea won both league games against Tottenham last season as well as both games in the Carabao Cup semi-finals so today’s game will prove to be an early indicator of what Spurs can achieve this season. At least they want to secure Champions League Qualifying, but they might think about lifting a trophy and maybe fighting for the title too.

Nottingham Forest scores entertaining win over West Ham as Premier League returns to City Ground

Nottingham Forest have more reason than most to know that one goal can be enough. They have won two European Cups 1-0 and are once again enjoying the goalscoring spirit.

While Taiwo Awoniyi’s bumpy strike won’t be remembered for as long as the greatest moments in the careers of Trevor Francis and John Robertson, it delivered another moment in Forest history. After a 23-year absence from the top flight, the Nigerian scored his first Premier League goal to secure his first win of the millennium.

As West Ham hit the woodwork twice, missed a penalty, cleared a header off the line and disallowed a goal, Forest’s only strike could have resulted in a shot. But if they rode their luck, they also made it. Chelsea v Tottenham LIVE: Premier League updates – Marc Cucurella makes first start
