Chelsea vs Tottenham LIVE: Team news, line-ups and more from the Premier League today

The first meeting of two Big Six teams takes place this afternoon Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The Blues prevailed in their opening game against Everton First League season they needed a cool head Jorginho pushing home a penalty that secured them the win.

However, it was far from a convincing performance since Thomas Tuchel tried to integrate new signings Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella into his team. Nonetheless, Chelsea picked up all three points and hope to continue that trend with a win over Spurs tonight.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s team had an almost perfect start to the season. They swept past Southampton 4-1 without their two main stars – Harry Kane and son Heung-min – be included in the scorer list. It was a dominant and impressive performance, especially considering James Ward-Prowse put the Saints ahead after just 12 minutes.

Chelsea won both league games against Tottenham last season as well as both games in the Carabao Cup semi-finals so today’s game will prove to be an early indicator of what Spurs can achieve this season. At least they want to secure Champions League Qualifying, but they might think about lifting a trophy and maybe fighting for the title too.
