The Chelsea defender is on board for the season ahead of the opening game at Manchester United tomorrow (2pm, Sky Sports).
Graham Potter has been observing Colwill for a while while on loan at Huddersfield and is looking forward to working with the England Under-21 international.
Albion’s head coach told The Argus: “We noticed him.
“The recruitment team did a lot of work and I saw him play a couple of times too.
“I saw him play for England too.
“He is a young player with many qualities that are very interesting for the highest level.
“We look forward to working with him and helping him enjoy his football.
“I think after last year’s loan he’s really keen to play, to get involved, to be part of something and it’s our job now to make him feel like a part of what we’re doing here.
“I think he will fit well into the group.
“They’re open, welcoming people, so I think he’ll be happy here and we’ll try to help him improve.”
