Chelsie Whibley dead: CBBC star dies aged 29 after battle with cystic fibrosis

CBBC star Chelsie Whibbing has died aged 29.
The actress, best known for her starring roles in Dani’s House and Sadie J, has been battling genetic cystic fibrosis.
Chelsie was rushed to Southampton General Hospital on Saturday and died around 2.45pm, her heartbroken husband said.
In a statement, Glynn, 33, paid a heartfelt tribute, writing: “I’m afraid this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write.
“This morning Chelsie deteriorated rapidly and became unresponsive. She was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
“It is with the deepest regret that I must announce to everyone that our dearest beautiful Chelsie sadly passed away at 2:45pm this afternoon.

“It was very quick and she wasn’t in pain. I know you all want to offer your condolences, but we ask that you please limit it to the comments below at this very distressing time.
“To my beautiful inspiration woman, we will always love you.”
Chelsie had previously been ordered to quarantine indefinitely because she was deemed “high risk” of becoming seriously ill if she contracted Covid-19.
She has previously spoken openly about how she longed for lockdown to be over so she could see loved ones again.
“It feels like I’m being taken even more time. It’s just beyond heartbreaking,” she said.

“I know seeing my friends and family is too dangerous and tipping my body over the edge might be enough.
“But on the other hand I don’t know how much time I have and it breaks me knowing I can’t see them,” she told The Sun.
There is no cure for cystic fibrosis and it shortens the life expectancy of those affected.
Chelsie previously revealed doctors had told her she would live until she was 16.

After defying the odds, the actress said her lungs were so badly scarred by the condition they were only functioning at 25 percent before she died, and she took 60 pills a day to stave off infection.
Chelsie shared her progress YouTube vlog, My CF Lifewhere she shared updates about living with the disease.
In one post, Chelsie was seen celebrating her birthday with husband Glynn and mum Pam, who has been allowed to move in with the couple to help with care.
