Aaron Campbell has never shown remorse for his heinous crime

A convicted child killer has been hospitalized after an attack in prison.

Aaron Campbell, 20, who murdered six-year-old schoolgirl Alesha MacPhail, was beaten in his cell at Polmont Young Offenders on Wednesday.

The attack left Campbell with his “front tooth through his lip,” according to a source reported by The Sun.

His attacker – hailed as a hero by fellow inmates – had to be pulled away from Campbell while he continued to brutally beat him.

Alesha’s great-grandfather George Lochrane, 79, said in response to the attack: “I hope he’s in pain. I hope he is suffering.

“The only thing I’m sorry about is that I couldn’t do it myself.”

A prison source said: “His door was open and someone saw an opportunity and grabbed it.

“He pushed Campbell onto his bed and started leathering him and getting some good shots. Campbell didn’t expect it at all, he never said anything.”

The source reportedly described Campbell’s front tooth as “sticking through his lip” and “everyone in prison happy” about the attack.

Campbell is usually kept separate from the other lags because of his notoriety and disgusting criminal record.

The attacker, the source said, could face a serious assault charge but is “not alarmed as it was worth it.”

Campbell snatched little Alesha from her bed on July 2, 2018 before raping and murdering her.

Before receiving a life sentence with a minimum sentence of 27 years, the judge presiding over Campbell’s trial, Lord Matthews, said the then-teenager “committed some of the most heinous and vicious crimes this court has heard of in decades of trial.” has with depravity”.

Lord Matthews described Campbell as “a cold, calculating, ruthless and dangerous individual” and “completely devoid of victim empathy”.

In 2019, Campbell successfully appealed his sentence, reducing the minimum sentence to 24 years. He can be paroled at 40.

Campbell is due to be transferred to an adult prison next year when he turns 21.
