Chilling AI creates chillingly realistic images of people who NEVER existed… can you spot the telltale clues?

At first glance, this picture looks like it could be taken any night, with three young women smiling while enjoying themselves.

But the longer you look at the picture, the more suddenly it looks all wrong as the picture starts to look scary and even makes you feel uncomfortable.

None of these people are real - they were created by an AI

And that’s because none of these humans actually exist — they were generated in the Midjourney artificial intelligence brain.

Midjourney is a computer program that creates images from simple prompts like “Women at a party”.

It uses machine learning and a neural network to piece together images based on human prompts.

And then it produces images like the one above, which can be fantastically artistic and incredibly realistic.

The controversial AI is trained by being given photos and works of her, from which she then creates her own images.

The shockingly realistic photo has gone viral after it was shared by a Twitter user @mileszim.

The longer you look, the more you notice the small differences that betray the picture as a fake.

With too many teeth and skin that’s just a little too shiny, these people aren’t real – they’re just the result of bundles of code in a machine.

The woman in the background as a necklace that seems to merge with her collarbone.

Your middle mate appears to have ten front teeth with a large central central incisor.

And her other friend doesn’t seem to have an upper lip as it blends in with the rest of her mouth.

“I don’t work in AI, I’m not an artist, and I don’t have a particular insight into either,” Miles said.

“The best thing I can do is share the weird shit that pops out of them when I try them.”

Another photo he shares shows two women taking a selfie – and then you realize the woman with the camera has too many fingers.

The same goes for another image where two women are smiling while taking a snap.

They notice that the redhead holding the camera has at least six long, skinny fingers.

She and her friend have way too many teeth again.

The last picture shared by Miles is once again very convincing.

At least until you notice again that two of the women’s mouths are filled with unnatural squeaks.

One of the main giveaways is that they have too many teeth

Other images he shared of men enjoying themselves at a house party were just as spooky as the women.

This looks good at first glance – something you wouldn’t bat an eye at if you were scrolling Facebook or Instagram.

And then you take a closer look and everything becomes very strange.

Again, humans have long, skinny fingers, disembodied, floating hands, swollen and misshapen biceps, and fingers appearing on bodies where they shouldn’t be.

The longer you look, the more nightmarish it gets – but they’re still frighteningly close to reality.

And with advances in AI-generated imaging just getting faster and faster, what could the technology do next and what could it be used for?

Miles’ post has been viewed almost 26 million times as Twitter users debate whether the photos are chilling or an incredible demonstration of the power of technology.

“This is the most honest fear I’ve felt in a long time,” one user said on Twitter.

Another added: “One of them looks exactly like my friend from college or rather her plastic replica.

“And that’s very creepy, plus she had similar photos from one of the parties.”

Others said, “I didn’t even notice the extra fingers and teeth” and “I think I’m going to have nightmares about it”.

Midjourney has been used to create artwork, comics, and even entire books.

And an artwork by Midjourney is even part of a competition in 2022.

It’s controversial as artists believe it steals their work as the AI needs to be ‘trained’ with their copyrighted pieces.

AI-generated imagery is an interesting oddity – but there are fears that as the technology evolves, it could one day be weaponized.

And previously revealed how China is already using a Matrix-like network of AI-generated humans to dominate the information space online.

Twitter and Facebook profiles are confronted with images of people who simply do not exist – but were constructed by AI software.

Almost indistinguishable from real people, the photos are photorealistic with the imperfections that bring faces to life.

Again – small flaws give them away, but they are incredibly realistic at first glance.

It raises fears of what will happen when the AI images become truly indistinguishable from real life.

Misinformation could easily be spread online using technology.

Where an image of a politician taking bribes was once hard evidence of corruption, would you now have to stop and consider whether or not this was an AI-generated image?

The world has already spread some fake news – one such AI-generated deepfake video Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on his troops to lay down their arms last March.

Such a malformation could have been devastating and sowing chaos if it ever took root.
