China is working on super-intelligent AI to rival ChatGPT – and it’s only a few weeks away

CHINA is reportedly developing an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) bot that aims to compete with the popular ChatGPT.
The super-intelligent AI engine is reportedly being developed by Baidu, China’s version of Google.
The company hopes to unveil the machine in March, Bloomberg initially reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
With AI seemingly just weeks away from being accessible to users, it’s clear the company is hoping to ride the chat bot wave.
ChatGPT, which went live in November, has taken the internet by storm in recent months.
The chatbot has amassed millions of users in just a few days, some of whom are curious about how to use the machine to complete work tasks.
In addition, ChatGPT has brought the debate about the role of AI in schools, offices and homes to the main stage of public and political debate.
Even Microsoft wants a piece of the pie after promising to invest billions in OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT.
The Chinese rival has yet to be named, but it will mirror ChatGPT by allowing users to get conversation-style search results.
Baidu, as one of China’s largest technology companies, has spent billions of dollars researching AI over the years.
The company previously developed a machine learning model called Ernie, which is said to be the basis of the new AI bot.
The Sun has reached out to Baidu for comment.
