Chris Christie hits Piers Morgan with a Trump reality check

Piers Morgan tried to sell Donald Trump as some sort of foreign policy mastermind – but former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) didn’t want that.
The former president has boasted of his close friendships with dictators and autocrats, including North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Morgan told Fox News Tonight that the US never went to war under Trump and that no dictator “did any tricks” during his presidency.
“Was there some method to Trump’s insanity in the way he dealt with these people that people thought he was insane, but maybe Trump’s unpredictability kept people like Putin and Kim Jong Un in their drawer?” Morgan said .
Christie – who is challenging Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination – intervened with a reality check.
“I don’t think he stopped Kim Jong Un from advancing the missile technology that is now allowing these missiles to reach the United States by calling him a great guy,” Christie said. “This happened under the supervision of Donald Trump.”
Putin, he said, continued to build up his military in anticipation of an attack on Ukraine.
“He takes no responsibility for that either,” Christie said. “And he’s not answering for withholding military aid from Ukraine to mislead Joe Biden.”
