Chris Pratt is honored to be playing the title role in the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie

Chris Pratt says he’s “so honored” to play moustachioed Italian plumber Mario in upcoming Super Mario Bros movie.
The Hollywood actor said there is no “bigger Mario fan than myself” and that his younger self would “turn my turtle over” to know that one day he would voice the role.
Pratt is joined in the film by Charlie Day as Luigi, alongside Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
“You don’t even know what you’re about to see!” Pratt wrote on Instagram.
“There is no bigger Mario fan than me. My 10 year old self would flip my turtle knowing I was growing up to voice this character.
“I’m so honored to be Mario and continue the legacy of bringing joy to the world through Miyamoto-san’s character.
“Everyone in the film is fantastic. The trailers are great, but you haven’t seen anything yet!”
Earlier clips from the film show Mario struggling to save his brother from the evil Bowser, with references to parts of the famous franchise’s video games, including driving his well-known Mario Kart.
The Super Mario Bros movie was announced in September 2021 with an original release date of December 2022, but has since been pushed back to April 2023.
