Chris Rock’s Netflix comedy special to air a year after the Oscars

Netflix has announced Chris Rock’s groundbreaking next TV special will air on March 4 – nearly a year after the comedian was slapped by actor Will Smith at the Oscars. .
The comedy special, Selective Outrage, will be the first Netflix production to be streamed globally.
A 30-second teaser clip shows Rock, 57, sitting in a dressing room, staring at the camera, wearing a diamond earring, before a knock on the door and a voice say: Chris, they’re ready for you.”
Set in Bun B’s The Best Is Back, the clip follows an emotionless Rock as he makes his way through the backstage area and onto the stage, where he meets a screaming audience and bright lights.
The streaming giant also released a poster for its first comedy event.
This is Rock’s second Netflix special after Tamborine’s success in 2018.
Selective Outrage will air nearly a year after Rock made a joke at the 2022 Oscars about actress Jada Pinkett Smith, who shaved her head because of hair loss.
Her husband, Hollywood actor Smith, took offense and stormed onto the stage, slapping Rock in the face, prompting the shocked comedian to say, “Will Smith just hit me so hard.”
