Chrissy Teigen marks a sober year in an honest post about her drinking days

Chrissy Teigen marked a year of sobriety by recalling moments she couldn’t remember clearly due to the effects, saying, “I never want to be that way again.”

The model and TV presenter, 36, celebrated the milestone with an Instagram post and said she was feeling “really good”.

Teigen first announced that she had begun her journey to sobriety in December 2020 after she was given the self-help book Quit Like A Woman.

She shared the news with her more than 38 million Instagram followers by posting a sweet video of her and husband John Legend, 43, and their two children Miles and Luna on vacation.

Teigen wrote: “Not a drop of wine for 365 days! I remember feeling anxious and carefree at times, but honestly, in the end, it doesn’t feel like fun anyway.

“I drank to put an end to the frenzy of anxiety that then mostly disappeared when I – get it – quit drinking! sigh.

“Anyway, I feel very good. Sometimes I get really frustrated looking back on the days that I should have remembered better than because of the alcohol.

“It’s like when I drink my patrons’ coffee and fall asleep while an Outback Steakhouse chef teaches me (my friends) how to make shallots at my house. I wish I was sober for that.

“Wish I remember really any award shows lol. There are photos from important moments in my life that my eyes just look at… disappear. Some are from actual work shoots, some are just beach days with the family.

“Honestly, I STILL don’t know if I’ll ever drink again, but I know I never want to be like that again. And right now, none of them are the best.

“I would let the bad dreams come in and try to solve them with therapy, not drinking. Prayers for a blooming onion, @outback ?? “

She also shared an Instagram story showing a sober history counter reaching 365 days, captioning the post “finally lol”.

Friends and celebrities congratulated Teigen on the achievement, with her singer husband saying: “Soooooo proud of you, my strong beautiful wife!”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell also shared how she relates to the experience, commenting: “Well done @chrissyteigen.. better on this side. I love recovery. Sending love N.” Chrissy Teigen marks a sober year in an honest post about her drinking days
