Chronic pain: “I had to mourn what I had lost to rebuild my life”

Living with chronic pain means every aspect of 58-year-old Tricia O’Shea’s life has been transformed. But she is determined to let other sufferers know that while her life may look very different than it used to, it is one of life full of new goals.

n April 2010 Tricia was working as a physical education teacher at various primary schools in Co Kerry. An accident on her way home from work one afternoon left her with lower back and pelvic injuries that resulted in chronic pain. It not only ended her beloved teaching career, but also her passion for exercise and the great outdoors.
