Cilian Murphy appreciates a major element of The Dark Knight Trilogy more than more recent superhero movies

Murphy’s “Anthropoid” co-star Jamie Dornan also gave his thoughts on modern superhero movies, speech, “Do you remember when you were a kid and you used to say, like, ‘Who wins a war, Batman or Superman?’ That’s exactly what the studios are doing now… It’s like a playground day.” And, he’s not wrong. Despite Zack Snyder’s attempts to set an increasingly darker tone with “Batman v. Superman,” the movie is essentially the same as Dornan described it.

Meanwhile, the “Dark Knight” trilogy is an example of three comic books that don’t have anything realistic to say about the world we live in. They were surprisingly mature for their time, and even more so by today’s standards. Perhaps the most impressive choice of the trilogy was “The Dark Knight’s” decision to focus on the third act, which revolved around a hostage situation with two ferries. It’s not like the entire city is likely to be blown up; it was a group of civilians and a group of prisoners, none of which we had met before.

At first glance, it sounds like a bad choice to bet too low, but it works because unlike Thanos which destroyed half the universe for no good, there’s a legitimate chance that Batman won’t. could save both ferries. If one or both of them blow up, the movie can still go on. A sequel could still be easy. Not only is the outcome really uncertain, but the entire plot involves the film’s overarching theme conflict between Batman and the Joker: are humans inherently good or bad?
