Citi creates 300 new jobs in Dublin

Banking giant Citi said it aims to create 300 new jobs in Ireland this year, bringing the total workforce here to 2,800.

It includes more than 700 employees working in various technology functions.

The new positions include roles in risk, audit, finance and treasury, and technology, where roles such as cloud and cyber specialists, as well as software engineers and architects can be found. The new hire will include client-facing positions in Citi’s treasury and trade solutions businesses, as well as commercial banking.

Citi’s Irish country head Cecilia Ronan said the expansion highlights the impact of technology on the financial services industry.

“Many of these new roles reflect this changing reality where skills such as risk, software development, data analytics, cloud and cyber are becoming increasingly important to the growth and health of our business.”

Citi has announced it will sell its Irish headquarters on North Wall Quay in Dublin’s IFSC and purchase a new building. Citi creates 300 new jobs in Dublin
