The largest hotel in the country – the Citywest Hotel in Dublin – opened its doors today for the first time in nearly two years.
The hotel played an important role during the Covid-19 pandemic, where it was used as a temporary testing facility, self-isolation facility and a vaccination center.
After closing in line with the entire hospitality sector, it was Licensed by HSE until the end of January 2022 to support the national effort to control the virus.
However, thanks to the easing of restrictions on the hotel sector, the 764-bedroom hotel – located just off the N7 road – is once again open for business.
Despite being closed since the beginning of 2020, hoteliers are still hopeful for a strong 2022 with strong domestic demand from companies and event organizers as well as a return of international tourism. for both leisure and business.
The hotel has received a wide range of overseas conference and conference bookings, including the Love Your Home exhibition, DIY Exhibition, Hardware Show and Wedding Magazine.
They are also expanding their team size and aiming to return to the 350-plus staff they were before closing.
