Claudia Lawrence’s father created a £10,000 legacy after his death with a charity donation.
Peter Lawrence died in February last year at the age of 74 without the mystery of his daughter’s disappearance in 2009 ever being solved.
Now his will reveals he left £10,000 from his £520,000 estate to the charity Missing People, for which he was an ambassador and campaigner.
After Claudia disappeared on her way to work at the age of 35, Peter campaigned for Claudia’s law, which allows families of people who have been missing for more than 90 days to sort out their affairs.
Jo Youle, Managing Director of Missing People, said: “With this, Peter is helping us to be a lifeline for people. Peter will be remembered with love and gratitude.”

Peter’s involvement with the charity included an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent with the Missing People Choir.
Back in 2017, Peter said he decided to publicize Claudia’s case in the desperate hope it would lead to new information. He added, “I have no intention of ever giving up.”
Chef Claudia was 35 when she disappeared on March 18, 2009 in Heworth, York. Nine arrests were made but no one was ever charged.
Peter was made an OBE for helping to draft the Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017 known as the Claudia’s Act.
