A charity for the homeless is asking for donations of clothes, shoes and sleeping bags.
BHT Sussex needs men’s clothing, sleeping bags, jackets, trainers, underwear and socks to help the people it supports in Brighton and Hove.
The charity operates First Base, a resource center for the city’s homeless.
Guy Hayes, operations manager at First Base, said: “Items like warm clothing and shoes make a huge difference for people affected by homelessness and we desperately need these items right now.
“Our services are in demand – last year we assisted 524 people at First Base and we have seen a sharp increase in the number of people coming to the center in recent months.
“We would like to thank our generous local community for their continued support that makes our work possible.”
Items can be dropped off at the First Base Day Center at St Stephen’s Hall, Montpelier Place, Brighton, BN1 3BF Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm or at the BHT Head Office at 144 London Road, Brighton, BN1 4PH.
Alternatively, items can be purchased from the Amazon wish list:
