A club in Birmingham put in place ‘security measures’ when three club members claimed they had been spiked by injection.

Three University of Birmingham students said they were stung while out at the Nightingale Club, in the city’s Gay Village.

The three women all discovered similar bruises on their arms after last Friday night and were ‘excessively perspiring’. BirminghamLive reported .

One also found a ‘needle footprint’ in her leather jacket after the evening.

This all comes after the venue said it “had security measures in place to reduce the risk” and stressed that it was taking the spike “extremely seriously”.

One of the students said: “The whole day I was exhausted and I sweated so much, it was like a cold sweat and I was constantly sleeping. I felt really weak, my arms were killing me. kill me.”

The student said her “heart dropped” when she said she later discovered a pinhole in the arm of her leather jacket.

Three friends, once part of a strong group of seven, said they had decided to go to A&E for blood tests and Hepatitis injections.

Nightingale said it was working closely with West Midlands Police after an investigation into the reports was launched.

A spokesperson for the Kent Street venue said: “The Nightingale Club takes the issue of spikes extremely seriously.

“We have security measures in place to reduce risk and protect the safety of our customers. We will be closely working with West Midlands Police in the event of any investigation.”

The force said investigations would be carried out in the reports as it shared details on how to ‘stay safe while out at night’.

A statement from West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating a report of three women being beaten during a night out in Birmingham city center on Friday (February 18). – as friends – all noticed their arm was bruised like day after day.

“They are also unable to recall events from the night before. This leads them to believe they have had a spike and report this to us. Further investigations will be carried out.
