Coca-Cola Ballina recognized as one of the most progressive manufacturers in the world

Coca-Cola Ballina has been recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world.
The Ballina site, Coca-Cola’s largest concentrate manufacturing facility, was recognized by for its use of advanced technology.
This follows several years of investment in the Mayo facility, which focused on the site’s IT infrastructure, as well as a training program to train the facility’s 450 employees on the new advanced technologies.
Digital transformation has increased productivity levels by 6.8 percent in 3 years, while energy consumption has also decreased by 29 percent.
The site will now join the World Economic Forum’s Lighthouse Network, a platform of manufacturers using technologies like AI and robotics to boost productivity.
Coca-Cola Ballina is one of 18 locations from around the world to be added to the network this year.
“With the investments we have made, combined with the team’s pioneering efforts in introducing new technologies, our Ballina manufacturing facility is at the forefront of transformation, innovation and sustainability,” said Eraldo Sales, general manager of Coca-Cola Ballina.
“Since our first investment over 70 years ago, Ireland has become a key location for Coca-Cola with sites in Ballina, Wexford and offices in Dublin and Drogheda,” added Iain McLaughlin, Vice President Commercial Product Supply.
Coca-Cola Ballina began operations 22 years ago. The facility produces concentrates and beverage bases for Coca-Cola’s bottling plants around the world.
