Colin Farrell on living with Barry Keoghan: ‘In the morning, it’s like the raccoons were there’

Colin Farrell described how he wanted to hit actor Barry Keoghan for stealing his Crunchy Nut when the two lived together while filming Banshees of Inisherin.

arrell told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show that while he loves and respects the young actor, his patience has been tested numerous times.

Farrell, Keoghan and Brendan Gleeson star in Martin McDonagh’s film which opens in Dublin tonight and hits theaters next Friday, October 21.

“He lived with me throughout the movie and you know, I would come in the morning and this place was like the raccoons were there – I’m not joking,” Farrell said.

“One morning, I came in and it was like, sorry my french, like ap*ss take, right. I walked in and there was a milk carton next to it and it was empty. But there’s a lovely puddle of milk where it’s like someone said how we’re going to poke it, get milk on its side, put a puddle on the floor, get cereal and have some soggy little pieces water at the bottom,” joked Farrell.

“So I see milk and I see cereal on the counter – it’s not in the sink where it should be. I remember I had milk in the fridge, so it was huge. I took the milk out of the fridge, took out a bowl, got the box of Crunchy Nut Cornflake and it was so light.”

“He emptied the Crunchy Nut and put the plastic bag back in the box… I’m not asking for much. This is not an actor asking for a private jet or anything else. I just want a bowl of crispy cornbread in the morning.

“But he’s amazing, he’s an extraordinary talent and has a heart the size of the island itself,” Colin said.

Despite his alleged theft of cereal, both Farrell and Gleeson sang praises to the Dublin actor, with Brendan saying what Keoghan has in terms of talent “cannot be put into words”.

“We discussed that, at one point [in the movie]Martin period [McDonagh, director] on his face, the whole world passed without saying a word.

Colin Farrell agreed, adding: “There were pages written on his face.

Colin said: “I love living with him, it’s lovely.
