Comedian Karl Spain: ‘I hope I’ll be there when they unveil the statue of Sharon Horgan’

BOOK: The Black Dog
been read recently [Scottish comedian] Kevin Bridges’ Book black Dog. It’s about the two worlds Kevin lived in – before fame and after fame – and the two main characters both have Kevin’s traits, and that makes it interesting. In addition, the crime present in the book leaves you guessing where the story will take you. The article is reminiscent of his stand-up – very precise, very well chosen words.
Another interesting read is by CK McDonnell stranger times series. He makes these wonderful worlds – and I love to laugh while reading, and there are a few good things here.
STREAMING: Evil Sisters
Everything about [Apple TV+] series bad sisters just brilliant. The cast, the plot, everything. I hope I’ll be there when they unveil the statue of Sharon Horgan – I love almost everything she’s done. She is an underrated national treasure.
PODCAST: All-round football
I love Totally Football Podcast with James Richardson. There is always a knowledgeable panel, and fans can enjoy it with varying degrees of interest. I’ve noticed some podcasts have a tendency to get repetitive… If it’s more than an hour, you’ll lose me. I also always listen weekly football the words guard. I tend to listen to them when I’m driving or walking… so yes, when I’m driving!
With the actual radio show I think Dermot and Dave just perfect. I always enjoy it and feel better listening to it. Such fun.
Comedy: Kevin Bridges
Watching Kevin Bridges’ latest tour is a joy. I am his act of support so I have to be there… but every night is an education. I’m an old dog learning new tricks – there’s a bunch of new comedians coming out, it’s really fun. With social media, you can become a superstar without leaving home, but if you’re good, you’ll need a stage and an expectant crowd. That’s where it’s pure.
