MPs from across the political spectrum have called for a large-scale pilot menopause Leave as they warned that a lack of support was pushing women out of the labor force.
This was announced by the Committee on Women and Equality chaired by Conservative MP Caroline Nokes menopause like pregnancy, is to become a “protected characteristic” under the Equal Opportunities Act.

The committee’s report states: “Menopausal women are the fastest growing group in the labor force and are staying in the labor force longer than ever before.
“Nevertheless, these experienced and competent role models often receive little support menopause symptoms.
“As a result, some are reducing their hours or their responsibilities. Others leave work altogether.
“We call on the government to lead the way for businesses by a menopause Ambassador who will champion best practice.”
What is menopause?
That NHS website says: “Menopause is when you miss your period due to lower hormone levels. This usually happens between the ages of 45 and 55.
This can cause symptoms like “anxiety, mood swings, brain fog, hot flashes, and irregular periods” that can severely interfere with daily life.
