Conor McGregor talks Jake Paul, comeback and UFC title aspirations

Conor McGregor has branded Jake Paul a “bastard” after the YouTube fighter criticized the UFC star’s technique.

McGregor is currently completing rehabilitation from the broken leg he suffered in his third bout with Dustin Poirier last summer.

He pulled on a pair of boxing gloves last week and posted a clip of himself hitting the pad.

Paul hastily labeled McGregor’s technique “shameful” while former UFC champion Henry Cejudo also criticized.

Paul, who set a professional boxing record 5-0, has long been about to hit McGregor and continues to claim to knock him down.

“I would KO Conor in boxing or MMA. Right hand of God,” he said.

McGregor was reluctant to have sex with the 25-year-old but eventually broke his silence a few hours later with a short video clip.

Responding to Paul’s tweet, McGregor unleashed a few punches before saying, “bastard” and turning off his phone.

A fight between the two will in some way become a reality as McGregor prepares to return to the top of the UFC.

He scored in his comeback in the summer and has claimed a lightweight title shot despite not taking a 155lb win since he beat Eddie Alvarez in 2016.

McGregor’s only win in his last four fights was his 40-second win over Donald Cerrone in 2020.

He has two fights left on his UFC contract, which means he could be ready to take on Paul next year.

The social media star posted three wins in the ring last year, two against Tyron Woodley and one against Ben Askren.

He will take a break from sports to cheer on stable friend Amanda Serrano’s match against Katie Taylor on April 30.

But he has plans to return in the summer – and possibly reschedule his ill-fated clash with Tommy Fury.

In another video, Paul added Jorge Masvidal’s name to his hit list after his heavyweight loss to Colby Covington last weekend.

“A new saying is, I feel sorry for stupid people, they are so stupid they don’t even realize how stupid they are,” he said.

“It’s like those who think Masvidal is a good fighter; it’s like those who think Conor McGregor Still a good fighter.

“These guys haven’t won the skirmishes, I don’t know how long. They’re up in the hills, washing off the bozos and I’ll take them both down.”
