Conor McGregor says he “could have been dead” after apparently being hit by a car while cycling

Conor McGregor says he “could have been dead” after apparently being hit by a car while cycling.

The UFC fighter released footage of the aftermath of the incident, which is believed to have happened earlier today.

One picture shows his bike in the middle of the road and a car a short distance away.

Although the location is not disclosed, it is believed to have occurred in Co Kildare, close to where he lives.

In a video, McGregor says: “Don’t worry. Dude, that’s bad, I could have been dead there, dude. Those cars after they put lotion on me guys.”

The driver of the car can be heard saying “I couldn’t see anything” and “I’m so sorry”.

A shaken McGregor then says: “I’m after I got away with my life guys.

The driver of the vehicle then offers McGregor a ride, to which the MMA fighter replies, “Yeah I’m gonna need a lift home mate that bikes f*****. Good luck.”

In a second video, Conor McGregor can be seen in the passenger seat of a vehicle with another man at the wheel, who gives his name.

The UFC star then says: “(He) feels like hitting me in the back with his car. It wasn’t our time…that’s all and thank God we’re still here. That’s all that counts.”

In a message below his Instagram post, he added, “Having awareness upon landing saved my life.”

It is understood that Gardaí have not officially reported the matter at this time.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is currently on trial on dangerous driving charges following an alleged incident in west Dublin last year.

He was stopped and arrested by Gardaí on March 22 at the M50 motorway junction near Palmerstown.

The highest-paid athlete in the world in 2021 drove his 191 Bentley Continental GT worth around 170,000 euros.

McGregor, with an address in Straffan, Co. Kildare, was initially charged with two counts of dangerous driving before later being charged with a further four offenses.

These include driving without a license and insurance, failure to present both within 10 days of the alleged incident and negligent driving.

Conor McGregor missed his last court appearance because he had the flu and his case is next listed for December.
