If you’ve been a Battlefield players for a while, especially console players who prefer to plunge into conflict from the comfort of a couch rather than a gaming chair, you’ll likely find the discussion going on around around field of view (FOV) slider.
For those who don’t know, a simple description of what FOV refers to is how much you can see on your screen at any one time. The point that Warzone caused a stir on the subject is the sheer difference between what console players can see, versus what players play on PC.
As it stands, console players can max out their FOV to 80, while PC players can go all the way up to 120, giving them a 50% larger field of view of their surroundings. In a game like Warzone, with its quick kill times, especially in close quarters, this gives PC players a huge advantage.
To clearly show the problem, Reddit user Maximus0066 posted a picture of the game running on both PC and console at the same time, with their characters standing in the same spot. The difference is immediately apparent, with PC players being able to see out the entire back wall of the room, while console players can’t see much through the windows.
Now, this issue has been resolved before. Creative Director Ted Timmins answered FOV-related questions on the console in December. While not providing any specifics on whether or when an update will be available, it does. it confirmed that the group was aware of the concerns.
Definitely aware of this, especially as I speak as a console player.
Thing is, if I tweet literally anything it becomes an unfair headline for me or the team. I just hope that these patch notes make it clear; You are being heard, and we are listening.

Please note that Caldera has just been released recently and more pressing issues like invisible skin and server stability may be a priority at the moment, it’s safe to assume we’ll have to be patient and wait for more information on this for the time being.
That being said, it’s still a major concern and needs to be addressed. With an FOV slider appearing in Call of Duty: Vanguard, those who are good at working on Warzone can figure it out in due time, too.
