IRELAND is set for a dry but cool and cloudy weekend, with temperatures dropping below zero in some areas overnight.
Meet Eireann had predicted a mostly steady week ahead with mild temperatures and some rain to move in midweek.
Today is usually cloudy and mostly dry, with only a few drizzle, mainly over Connacht and Ulster.
A few bouts of sunshine or morning will occur in the afternoon. The highest temperature is from 7°C to 10°C.
Tonight will continue to be cloudy and dry, with occasional light drizzle in the west.
Lowest temperatures are generally 1C to 5C, which can drop to -1C during any prolonged clear cloud accompanied by frost.
The Met Eireann said: “Sunday will bring a mix of clouds and some spells of sunshine.
“Pattern drizzle will be in the western and southern coastal counties throughout the day, but otherwise it will be a dry day. Temperatures peak between 6°C and 9°C.

“On Sunday night, light rain or drizzle will continue overnight in Atlantic counties, with dry weather further east.
“Cloudy, occasional clear skies. Lows between 3C and 7C, but can drop locally to 0C in any weather clearer in the east. Fog in places. mild to moderate winds in the east.
“Sometimes there will be rain or drizzle in Connacht and areas west of Ulster and Munster on Monday. Elsewhere will be mostly dry, with some spells of sunshine. Temperatures peak from 8°C to 11°C with light to moderate southerly winds.
