Fan breaks into hospital ‘unbelievable’ mistake on EastEnders
Confused BBC One viewers flocked to social media to brand the scene “unrealistic” and even insensitive.
Over the past few weeks, Stuart has been struggling to treat his condition after diagnosed with male breast cancer.
In recent episodes of the series, the character played by Ricky Champ finally opens up to his wife Rainie about his diagnosis.
But while plot attracts attention many viewers, some applauded the BBC soap for raising awareness about men with breast cancer, it also ruffled a lot after last night’s episode.
During the episode, Rainie and Stuart were offered “an urgent appointment” and were able to visit with an NHS specialist.
The latter explained that he could match Stuart in the same week for surgery.
But offscreen, and as viewers of EastEnders fuming at home have noted, wait times can often run up to weeks or even months.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to criticize the episode, with one viewer admitting that the wait times were sometimes too long, with some patients not even recovering from their illness.
“If EastEnders wants to be a reality, it would take months for cancer treatment to reach the UK now. My family has lost someone because the diagnosis and treatment took so long,” tweeted viewers.
