Coronation Street’s Andy McDonald star Nicholas Cochrane looks completely different as he arrives for rare TV appearance

CORONATION actor Andy McDonald, Nicholas Cochrane, looked completely different when he made a rare television appearance in Leeds today.
The 48-year-old actor first appeared on our screens as Steve McDonald’s twin brother on ITV in 1989 when he was 16 years old.
He starred in the series until 1997 when his character left the cobblestones to become an English teacher in Spain.
Since then, there have been many returns to Weatherfield.
This morning, the star sees the world differently from her alter-ego as he walks the streets of the northern city in smart attire.
Nicholas chose a light blue shirt and navy blue trousers.
He completed the look with a pair of black sneakers and a giant watch on his wrist.
He is also seen with a second outfit choice consisting of a blue plaid shirt and chinos pants.
Back in 2020 Nick Cochrane revealed that he fear his character will turn into a ravagek, but will be played by another actor.
He said on the Distinct Nostalgia podcast that he was horrified to see Andy being given a new part full of meat and the chiefs casting a new actor.
Nick said: “What I’m afraid of is Andy coming back and that’s not me because, to be honest, it could happen, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.”
After working for Corrie, Nick went on to star in parts of ITV’s Heartbeat, A Study in Red Trilogy and A Dish Served Cold.
The soap star has made numerous television appearances over the years including Loose Women, The South Bank Show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and Canada AM.
Most recently played Dean Telford in Doctors two years ago.
