Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell, who plays Emma Brooker on ITV, is looking forward to playing new characters after she leaves.
Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell put all her energy into planning her wedding and her next possible roles before leaving ITV.
Actress Emma Brooker turned down the show next week after four years in the role, with her exact exit being kept private.
It is teased that the fan favorite could end up in prison, when the truth about Ted’s death comes to light.
Whether Emma is forced to run away or will get a happy ending with love Jon remains to be told, as fans will see these scenes unfold next week.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, actress Alexandra revealed all about her lavish wedding to partner Joe Parker.
While she didn’t go into too many details, she did discuss her hopes for new roles in other projects after finishing her stint at Corrie.
She teased that she’s been pretty busy and gets caught up in auditions again, so it looks like we’ll see her on screen again soon.
Alexandra explained, “It’s been a lot busier than I initially thought. I love it every time I get a new audition, the character review process and a part of what I have to do.
“It was really fun, I’ve always loved auditions in the past so it’s great to be back with it.”
Regarding her partner helping her, she continued: “I’m lucky with Joe because he’s also an actor, we already have our little system in place so we help each other out a little bit. .
“We always help each other,” what do you think of this? Should I try this? “So we’re lucky we have each other.”
On the wedding planning, she revealed: “Everything happens at the same time. I love it, it’s very me, everything at the same time.
“My plans are much more successful than Emma’s. Although we are still over a year away, so we are taking a bit of a step, but we are excited.”
Alexandra also revealed she didn’t initially intend to stay with the soap as long as she has, and that she was only given a six-month contract when she joined.
She told us: “My original contract was only six months. For me, that wasn’t long enough, I prayed I could stick around a little longer.”
