Coronation Street audiences watched Emma Brooker leave Weatherfield in the latest episode of Friday’s ITV drama.
The character departs for a new life in Australia with new boyfriend Jon, in a fan-favorite happy ending.
Alexandra Mardell dropped out of the show earlier this year, and recently teased that she might end up on the run or in jail thanks to her dark secret.
In January, she and Faye Windass were in a car when Faye ran past an elderly man named Ted.
Ted later died from his injuries, and the girls kept their involvement a secret.
But when Emma begins dating Ted’s nephew Jon, the truth soon emerges leaving him devastated.
Luckily, the pair patched things up, and he told Emma he wasn’t going to tell the police what happened to Ted.
On Friday, he asked Emma again to move with him to Australia, but this time asking her to come with him and then.
Jon was preparing to travel to the country with Emma to join later, but he urged her to consider going with them immediately and she agreed.
Her family was shocked by the sudden news and her father, Steve McDonald, forbade her to move elsewhere.
But after a heart fluttering moment, he realized that this was what Emma wanted and he was happy to let her go.
Her family gathered outside in the street to wave to her, as Emma and Jon boarded a taxi and headed out of Weatherfield.
Just before this happened, Emma made up for Faye and the couple had an emotional breakup after months of hell for both of them.
Emma says her goodbyes to everyone, including her best friend Gemma, and takes one last look at the cobblestones before starting a new beginning.
