Coronation Street confirmed the fate of Adam Barlow on ITV, leading to an on-screen exit for ex and stalker Lydia Chambers on Wednesday night.
Corrie fans witnessed the incident immediately as Adam was pushed off the balcony by Lydia in a heated argument, where their past was finally explained.
Lydia ripped him off because of his treatment of her years ago, and Adam felt guilty for a moment – but when he told her she should tell Sarah the truth, Lydia was even more enraged. time out.
She confessed that he had cheated on her during their affair, and that when she herself became pregnant with his child, he told her to have an abortion, which she did in secret.
Just as things seemed to calm down, his pleas for her to tell Sarah the truth resulted in Lydia pushing him, and him toppling over on the balcony.
Wednesday night’s episode showed how Adam’s family finally learned of his condition, after several tests were conducted by doctors after the fall.
They confirmed he appeared to be fine, but they discovered a smear of blood at the back of his eye – after Adam confirmed he was experiencing blurred vision.
Adam was brought down for surgery and when he was brought back to the infirmary he was clearly in great pain.
That said, the doctors confirmed Adam would be fine and his eyesight was fine, while they wanted to keep him for observation.
The episode sees the end of the plot, advertising Lydia and Adam make up and she leaves.
Sarah, Adam’s wife, told the police what she had done and about all her lies that led to her arrest.
But attorney Adam left the hospital to help her, asking to speak to the officers – claiming that he had fallen from the balcony, and that she did not push him.
He refused to accuse her of anything that happened, meaning she was free to go.
As she left the station, she thanked Adam for what he had done, before asking him if they could have a truce.
Adam agreed, with Lydia telling him, “Good luck with everything,” as she walked away and left Weatherfield.
The soap recently confirmed the end of the plot would air this month, and resulted in Lydia’s departure from the show.
