Corrie fans spot glaring mistake as Hope exposes Phill

Dodgy Phill Whittaker’s dark secret was finally exposed on Coronation Street last night… he wanted to write a book about serial killer John Stape.

OH.

With the majority of fans suspecting that Fiz’s mistress was related to her murderous ex-husband, many were surprised by Phill’s strange explanation.

But is it all it seems?

The truth was revealed after Hope – John’s biological daughter – started searching his laptop when she discovered a folder with a suspicious title of “STAPE”.

Returning to Tyrone’s care, Hope finally reveals that she found information about John on Phill’s laptop.

After Tyrone tells Fiz about Hope’s discovery, she confronts Phill – prompting him to exclaim that he is working on creating a book that tells her story.

Acknowledging that he had secretly met with a journalist behind her back, Phill even revealed that he considered several Mills & Boon-style titles for the book, including From Sir With Love.

Having said that, Fiz was not pleased and quickly moved out and back with Tyrone.

However, some fans suggest that the ‘reveal’ may not really be the whole truth and could be a cover for something much more sinister.

Taking to Twitter, fans outlined their predictions as one commented: “Something tells me Phill has known about John Stape longer than that week since he and fizz had that meal with you No way he did all that ‘research’ in one go. week. #Corrie.”

While another suggested: “Btw, I don’t believe anything phill just said about a book. I think it’s a cover-up for something else #Corrie.”

A third wrote: “So Phill’s big secret is that he started researching John Stape? Surely there’s more to it? #Corrie.”
