Coronation Road: Kelly sees Laura’s mother after her death

Coronation Street viewers attacked killer Gary Windass after Friday’s ITV episode, which featured a grieving death.

They blamed Gary for Kelly Neelan’s heartbreak, when her mother Laura sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.

Laura begged Gary to take Kelly to the hospital so she could see her one last time, but when Kelly got there, she missed the chance to say goodbye.

As viewers sympathized with Kelly, many went wild with Gary as they believed that if he was honest about the murder of Kelly’s father Rick, Kelly would be there with Laura in her final moments.

Kelly dumped her mother after Laura confessed to killing her father Rick in recent scenes – but fans know that it was Gary who actually killed him in 2019.

Knowing she was dying and wanting the best for Kelly, Laura admitted fault in a heartbreaking sacrifice.

She tells Gary to keep her secret and in return, raise Kelly for her – but that means Kelly hasn’t seen her sick mother since and refuses to say goodbye to her.

Gary spied on Kelly in the latest episode and begged her to meet Laura before it was too late.

He told her: “You really need to see her, she begged me. She will die any moment, she is still your mother.

“I need to go see her. If I don’t say goodbye now, I won’t be able to come back later. I’ll regret this for the rest of my life.”

Laura had cried for her daughter moments earlier at the hospital, knowing she was nearing her end and desperate to see her.

Kelly refused to sit still and got drunk instead, before telling Gary, “You go see my mom, tell her to say hello to my dad.”

But when Gary finally took her to the hospital, Kelly found Maria sobbing and realized she was too late to say goodbye.

Laura tragically died while Maria was with her, and before Kelly could get there–distracting the teenager, and Gary too.

As the scenes unfolded, viewers took to Twitter to call out Gary for not telling the truth, saying Kelly would have gotten there much sooner if he had.

One fan said: “Gary better get completely serious about cleaning up his f**ing act. Kelly really missed her last moments with her Mom, because of him. The closer her relationship with him and Maria gets, the worse it gets when she discovers the truth about who really killed her father.”

A Wednesday viewer wrote: “I will never forgive Gary for letting Laura take the blame for Rick’s murder. The kindest thing Gary can do now is get his own hands on it.”
