Coronation Street fans were frustrated with Toyah Battersby on Friday night when Abi Franklin met her newborn baby for the first time.
The latest season of ITV soap saw Abi meet her drug dealer again as she planned to get high and forget about reality.
Unbeknownst to Abi, however, she was being watched by Toyah, who watched her go home and barged in just as Abi was about to start taking her medicine.
As the pair exchanged tense words, a social worker could hear a knock on the front door – and Toyah decided to let her in.
The social worker informed Abi that her newborn son was unwell in the hospital and they needed her to get there immediately.
Feeling guilty for not being there for her son, Abi failed in the waiting room and admitted to Toyah that she wanted to see her son.
In incredibly emotional scenes, Abi stands by the incubator and watches her baby son, who is attached to various wires and machines.
“Hiya kiddo, I’m your Mother. Really, nice to meet you,” she said as she leaned over the incubator and Toyah watched her from the outside.
As the doctors conducted more tests on the baby, Abi confided in Toyah outside – but she didn’t tell her story and told her she needed to change priorities. yours right now.
However, viewers were not impressed with Toyah’s harsh words and took to Twitter to comment.
One person posted: “It’s true that Saint Toyah is starting to strain my nerves now #corrie.”
Another tweeted: “Toyah likes to stick her nose in people’s business and try to control them, she sucks #Corrie.”
Another wrote: “#Corrie Abi can’t she talk to nurse Toyah herself? Don’t interfere!”
Another viewer added: “#Corrie Oh shut up Toyah, you’re patronizing cranky bint.”
