Coronation Street fans weren’t happy on Wednesday night when Abi Webster and Imran Habeeb faced off in court.
The pair are currently locked in a custody battle over their son Alfie, who was conceived during a one-night stand.
Imran (Charlie de Melo) has been trying to prove Abi (Sally Carman) is an unsuitable mother, and even hired a man named Ben to spy on her for the past week to try and smear her.
Ben took several photos of Abi giving money to her former drug dealer Dean, and Imran presented the photos as evidence in court that she was still using drugs.
Despite the judge telling Imran to have someone watching her “for as long as it takes”, she decided to give custody of the children to Imran and his new wife Toyah.
“Bringing Alfie’s risk, I have decided that Alfie should live with his father. While he is hospitalized, Mrs. Webster can visit Alfie.
“When he is discharged, Mrs. Webster will probably visit Alfie weekly. For now, this is in Alfie’s best interest,” the judge added.
Viewers watching at home were not pleased with the results and took to Twitter to comment.
“Corrie, I despise the unfairness of this guardianship hearing. Imran should be barred from receiving custody based on his shady, implausible tactics to gather evidence,” one person wrote. speaker.
Another viewer tweeted: “The judge’s decision was a joke. No empirical evidence of Abi consuming drugs, just so-called witnesses and money change photos. All her drug tests are negative, she’s in meetings. Toyah and Imran are scum. #coronationtreet #corrie.”
Another posted: “#corrie I’m literally screaming at Tv, Imran you Throw the pot I wish someone would knock on that smirk on his face.”
A fourth viewer tweeted: “I used to like Imran but the way he’s been lately towards Abi has made me see him in a new way. Disgusting and evil behavior. #Corrie.”
Another added: “This plot is terrible! I used to love Toyah and Imran. Hate what they did to the characters. #Corrie.”
