Coronation Street’s Abi Franklin is pregnant after having a one-night stand with Imran Habeeb last year.
Fans of the ITV soap opera were left stunned when Sunday night’s episode ended with Abi (Sally Carman) discovering she was in labour.
The hour-long episode began with Abi waking up with a hangover, but decided to take another turn when she called her drug dealer, Dean.
Hanging out with Dean and listening to music, Abi was seen complaining about back pain – but she clearly had no idea she was pregnant.
The couple then stole one of the sports cars from the garage, but Abi felt very uncomfortable and asked Dean to stop the car.
Abi was obviously already in labor and told him she needed to go to the hospital, but he panicked and left her on the side of the road as he drove off.
She then dialed 999 and tried to get an ambulance when she told the operator, “I’m having a baby…” but then her phone’s battery died.
Corrie viewers were stunned by the news and had to predict what would happen next as the episode ended.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “I’m having a baby OMG Abi #Corrie.”
Another viewer wrote: “Did she just say BABY?????? #Corrie.”
And a third person tweeted: “THIS IS SHE PREGNANT #corrie.”
It’s not certain if the biological father of Abi’s unborn baby is Imran (Charlie de Melo) or her husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), but it’s sure to be a dramatic showdown when both men hear the news.
It certainly hasn’t been an easy few months for Abi as she’s still struggling to process the death of her son Seb, who was murdered in May 2021.
